Library

Meet your Teacher librarian

Dear E. J. Sand Families,

My name is Angie Braiantsis and I am E. J. Sand’s Teacher-Librarian. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with your children and support their learning journey through the library. I wanted to provide you with some information about our library learning commons.

About the Library Program

Our school library is a vibrant space where students can explore a wide range of books, access various learning resources, and develop essential research skills. This year, we have an exciting lineup of activities and programs designed to foster a love for reading and to enhance critical thinking.

What to Expect

  • Book Checkouts: Students will have regular opportunities to check out books that align with their interests and reading levels. Encouraging reading at home is crucial, and we welcome any discussions about book choices and reading habits.
  • Library Lessons: I will be conducting lessons on information literacy, digital citizenship, and research skills. These lessons are designed to support the curriculum and help students become confident and independent learners.
  • Events and Programs: Stay tuned for more details, and please feel free to get involved or volunteer!

How You Can Support

  • Encourage Reading: Set aside time for reading at home and discuss books with your child. Your interest in their reading can make a significant impact.
  • Visit the Library: I encourage you to visit the local library with your child. It’s a great way to show your support for their learning and to explore the resources available.
  • Stay Connected: I will be sending out regular updates and information about library activities. You can stay connected on Instagram: EJSandLibraryLife.

Returning of Student Library Materials

I am kindly asking for families to return all school library books. Please ensure that they are returned to your child’s homeroom teacher as soon as possible. Your support with this is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your support and partnership. I look forward to a fantastic year of reading, learning, and discovery with your child! Thank you for your support and happy reading!

Most sincerely,

Your Teacher-Librarian,

Ms. Braiantsis
